Adelle Stripe's 2017 novel, Black Teeth and a Brilliant Smile [“Dents Noires et Sourire Radieux”] inspired by the life and work of Andrea Dunbar will debut in France on September 4th 2026 with Les éditions du typhon, an independent publishing house based in Marseille.
Adelle will be joining a raft of exceptional northern novelists that have been been published by Typhon including Barry Hines [A Kestrel for a Knave], David Storey [This Sporting Life], Keith Waterhouse [Billy Liar], and John Braine [Room at the Top] — all of which in some small way inspired the writing of Black Teeth.
Translated by Claire Charrier, the novel will be published in paperback and is available to pre-order in French bookshops and libraires.
