Adelle Stripe and Jen Bowden appear in the new episode of Northern Voices where they discuss the recent French edition of Black Teeth and a Brilliant Smile, the cultural significance of Andrea Dunbar, taking inspiration from the great Pat Barker and how a French translator has become a champion of Northern stories.

Writing for The Quietus, Adelle Stripe pitches up to revisits Mike Leigh's cult classic, chewing 72 times to realise that she might have more in common with Keith and Candice-Marie Pratt than she previously cared to admit.

Adelle Stripe's 2017 novel, Black Teeth and a Brilliant Smile [“Dents Noires et Sourire Radieux”] inspired by the life and work of Andrea Dunbar will debut in France on September 4th 2026 with Les éditions du typhon, an independent publishing house based in Marseille.
