Finchale Award for Short Fiction

Zaffar Kunial and Adelle Stripe have been announced as judges for this year's Finchale Award for Short Fiction. The prize is open to new, emerging or established writers living in the North of England. The winner will receive £1000 and access to the Northern Writers’ Awards Network.

Named after Finchale Priory, a place of retreat for the monks of Durham during the Middle Ages, the award is funded by the writer Benjamin Myers, whose generous support has made this unique opportunity possible.

Submit your unpublished short story (1500 words) to New Writing North's Northern Writers Awards by 22 February for the chance to win.
